The Greater Holyoke YMCA’s Sustainability Pilot Program

Growing Green Leaders

The Greater Holyoke YMCA partnered with the MA Alliance of YMCAs to pilot an environmental sustainability youth development program. The goal was to teach local youth green practices that improve operational efficiency while building the skills and mindset needed for a more sustainable future.

Through this hands-on initiative, young participants learned firsthand how small, everyday changes can make a meaningful environmental impact, from conserving resources to understanding sustainable operations. The program reflects the Y’s broader commitment to developing the next generation of community-minded leaders who care about the world around them.
