The Greater Holyoke YMCA has had a positive impact on the lives of those who live and work in the Pioneer Valley, by promoting programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body.

You can join anywhere, but YOU belong at the YMCA.

The Y is more than just a pool, a gym, or a wellness center.

All YMCA members experience a sense of belonging and ownership that lasts a lifetime.

Welcome to the YMCA, where YOU belong.

Become a part of the Greater Holyoke YMCA's

2008 Henry A. Fifield Annual Support Campaign

Please help us get to $50,000

We put our mission into practice through the Fifield Annual Support Campaign. By ensuring that every individual can afford the services of the YMCA while paying his or her "fair share", the YMCA achieves its goal to provide services to all.

Funds raised through the Campaign provide fee assistance for the following programs:

Membership and Programs:
Ensuring that no one is turned away for an inability to pay, 538 children, adults and seniors received some level of financial assistance totaling $40,750 so they too could reach their potential in spirit, mind and body.

Summer Day Camp/After-School Childcare:
340 youth participated in our 10 weeks of our two summer camp programs in Holyoke and South Hadley.  288 children, or 85%, received fee assistance with 69 campers receiving financial assistance directly from the Holyoke YMCA totaling $26,590.

274 youth participate in our 6 afterschool sites in Holyoke and South Hadley.  181 of these youth, or 66%, receive fee assistance.

Birthplace of Volleyball

Volleyball was invented by William Morgan at the Holyoke YMCA in 1895 as a game for sedentary businessmen. In 1984 William G. Morgan was honored posthumously as first inductee of Volleyball Hall of Fame in 1985. The volleyball hall of fame at 444 Dwight Street in Holyoke opened to the public on June 6, 1987.

YMCA ACTIVATE AMERICA!

Primary focus of the Holyoke YMCA is activating America.

One of the most important health issues in the country today is America's epidemic of obesity and inactivity. As the nation's largest network charitable, not-for-profit organizations we are focused on improving lifestyle health for youths and adults. We, as an organization, are positioned to help address this health crisis.

Just how important is physical activity?

In a word EXTREMELY. We all know exercise is good for us but many do not know that exercise is critical for sustaining good health. At the YMCA we are dedicated to providing everyone the opportunity to improve their overall health through the wide variety of sports and recreation activities we offer.

Join today and begin your personal journey to health and fitness.

Our Mission: The mission of the Greater Holyoke YMCA is to provide members and participants throughout the greater Holyoke area a variety of quality programs, services and opportunities to improve the quality of life; mentally, spiritually and physically without regard to race, creed, color or national origin.
